Role: User Experience Design Intern
overview
I was a UX Design Intern at SapientNitro, a global digital marketing agency, in Chicago during the summer following my junior year. During this internship, I primarily worked on the define and design phase of a large-scale e-commerce platform for a client. These are the major takeaways that I learned from this experience:
- Importance of collaboration and a multiplicity of perspectives in design
- Challenges of working with developers who are located internationally
- Craft of effectively communicating the values of artifacts that come from the design process to the client
- Excitement of advocating for the user and their needs as a designer
I also assisted in the development of wireframes on internal and client projects. Apart from this work, I completed a group research project with the other three interns in my office where we created and presented on a thought leadership piece about digital identity.
